Travis County Judge Andy Brown Signs Disaster Declaration Due to Severe Weather and Drought

 (Travis County, TX) – After the Travis County Commissioners Court voted to extend the current Burn Ban until September 20, 2023, Travis County Judge Andy Brown signed a Declaration of Local Disaster due to wildfire danger due to severe drought and weather conditions, and released the following statement:

   “Protecting life and property is our priority at Travis County. By signing this disaster declaration, it will help prepare our wildfire response for the worst-case scenario and remain in a ready posture moving forward,” said Travis County Judge Andy Brown. “By signing this declaration today, Travis County can also make all necessary preparations to quickly evacuate neighborhoods, if needed, and get easier access to state resources should the need arise.”
